Myrmecocystus testaceus colony Replete Footage 8/31/2019

     Just the other day, I was taking a look at my Myrmecocystus testaceus colony, and decided to record a quick video of their nest. Little did I know that I would be lucky enough to record a replete, or moving ant food storage, dispensing food to some of the regular workers. The genus Myrmecocystus is well known for making these moving ant storage repletes, which, when big enough, resemble candy. The feeding behavior is seen at around the 0:55 mark of this video:
